DIESEL IN MOTORBIKE - WE CAN FIX YOUR FUEL MISTAKE

If you've accidentally added diesel IN motorbike designed to run on petrol (gasoline), you'll need to take immediate action to prevent damage to the engine and fuel system. Here's what you should do if you've put diesel in a motorcycle:

  1. Stop and Don't Start the Engine: If you realize you've added the wrong fuel, do not start the motorcycle. Starting the engine with the wrong fuel can cause damage and complications.

  2. Push to a Safe Location: If the motorcycle is already running, stop it immediately. Push the motorcycle to a safe location, such as the side of the road or a parking lot, where you can address the issue.

  3. Drain the Fuel System: You'll need to drain the fuel tank and fuel lines to remove the diesel fuel. Draining the tank might involve disconnecting the fuel line, removing the fuel tank, or using a siphon pump. This task may be best performed by a professional mechanic.

  4. Flush the Fuel System: After draining the tank, the fuel system should be flushed thoroughly with the correct petrol fuel to remove any diesel residue. This process is important to prevent any remaining diesel from causing damage to the engine.

  5. Inspect for Damage: Once the fuel system has been flushed, a mechanic should inspect the engine and related components for any potential damage that may have occurred due to the wrong fuel.

  6. Refill with Petrol: After the fuel system has been properly flushed and inspected, refill the tank with the correct petrol fuel.

  7. Test and Monitor: After the repairs, the mechanic should test the motorcycle to ensure it's running properly. You should also monitor the motorcycle's performance in the days following the incident to ensure there are no lingering issues.
